When choosing varieties of garlic for your own climate it is worth considering their places of origin. Some varieties come from cold regions of the world, so they give better results in Southern parts of Australia. If you grow in more tempereate zones (humid or dry), then the Creoles and Xian from China amongst others should do well. Other garlics do well in hot dry or maritime climates
Highly adaptable. However, garlic is highly adaptable and given two or three growing seasons in your environment it will surprise you how well many different varieties can grow. While garlic is easy to cultivate, great garlic needs that little extra attention. Give your garlic a little time and good growing conditions and it will not disappoint you.
