Gourmet Garlic Selection: Unlike commercial bulbs, our experts choose Gourment garlic bulbs by hand-selection.. Our Gormet bulbs are identified by name and come with a known Provenance. All are in Class 1 condition and are handled and packed with care. They are selected to be mature and well-cured, compact, with cloves well-filled and plump, free from mould, decay, shattered cloves or damage and are priced per bulb accordingly, unless otherwise stated.
Gourmet Garlic Grading: The bulbs are measured by diameter which means the greatest dimension at right angles to a straight line running from stem to root end. Bulb size loosely follows the Ontario Garlic Growers Association grade categories and are as follows.
Small size less than 40 mm (these are not sold for planting stock)
Medium size 40-44 mm
Large size 45-49 mm
Jumbo size 50-59 mm
Extra Jumbo 60-69 mm
Colossal 70 - 74 mm
Super Colossal 75 mm upwards
