Product Information
The "rocambole" variety is so named for its "round rock-like" shape. Like other "hardnecks" it contains a central hard stalk which sends up a flower head which is sterile. The wrappers around the original bulbs are a blotchy-purple colour and the cloves brownish and sometimes with a red hue. The cloves are arranged in a circle around the flower stalk and have a "full" flavour. aka Spanish garlic which is a large wine coloured bulb that is grown in the South of France (called red garlic of Provençaux by the French).
