Beautiful Glenlarge is a superior large-cloved varietiey of garlic developed at the Gatton Research Station in Queensland. It is a high yielding garlic with light purpling of the outer skin. There is a large demand for this variety and we always sell out early each year. You will need to place an advance order (minimum 6 bulbs) to obtain this beauty as there is always a limited supply.

Should you choose to cultivate Glenlarge bulbs then it is good to know that with favourable growing conditions they can grow to 70mm or more in diameter. It is an early maturing variety well-suited to the Northern States of Australia. "Colossal" grade bulb image shown (>70mm). Glenlarge and Southern Glen are superior large-cloved varieties developed at the Gatton Research Station in Queensland. They are the highest yielding and have a light purpling of the outer skin. Southern Glen matures approximately 1 to 2 weeks before Glenlarge. They are well adapted to the Northern States of Australia.
The Queensland DPI advise that planting should be done no later than mid-March to early April. Later plantings result in a reduction in bulb size. Garlic requires a cool growing period in winter.
