Printanor is one of the three main garlic cultivars grown in France and a very popular cultivar in New Zealand. Printanor produces a medium-sized off-white bulb which was developed further by the Victorian Department of Agriculture in a joint venture with private industry.This venture produced a high-yielding virus-free cultivar with a high alliin content especially useful for the pharmaceutical industry. This is a vigorous and highly productive variety that matures mid-season and stores well for up to seven months. It produces 15-20 cream/pink-coloured cloves of which 10-12 are plantable.
